Pakistan observes Jinnah’s birth anniversary Saturday
December 25th, 2010 - 12:02 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, Dec 25 (IANS) Pakistan Saturday celebrates the 134th birth anniversary of the nation’s founder, Mohammad Ali Jinnah.Programmes will be held all over the country by the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) and the ministry of culture to pay homage to the “father of the nation”, officially known in Pakistan as Quaid-i-Azam, The Dawn reported.
Special prayers will be held in mosques for the prosperity and progress of the country.
Programmes will also be held at Jinnah’s mausoleum in Karachi.
Jinnah (Dec 25, 1876-Sep 11, 1948) served as leader of the All India Muslim League from 1913 until Pakistan’s independence Aug 14, 1947.
He became Pakistan’s first governor-general from Aug 15, 1947 until his death.
