Washington, Feb 8 (ANI): The US State Department has said that Pakistan should have a political agreement with pro-Taliban leaders in its troubled tribal areas.
Deputy department spokesman Tom Casey said that Pakistan needs a pact according to which, militants surrender and join the mainstream politics and avoid violence.
He further said that agreements of 2004 and 2006 in North and South Waziristan werent able to produce any intended results.
It must be noted that Musharraf had said that Pakistan has deployed over 100,000 soldiers in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) to fight against the Taliban and the al-Qaeda terrorists crossing the frontier. (ANI)
