Islamabad, Apr.13 (ANI): The forthcoming Tokyo Donors’ Conference may see Pakistan receiving four billion dollars as aid over the next two years.
Addressing media persons at the Japanese embassy here, Japan’s Special Representative for Assistance to Pakistan and Afghanistan, Motohide Yoshikawa said peace and stability in Pakistan was in the greater interest of the world.
Yoshikawa said Tokyo had also raised the issue of providing more financial help to Pakistan in the G-20 group summit.
He informed that Japan would announce assistance for Pakistan in the form a ’soft loan’ during President Asif Ali Zardari’s bilateral talks with Japenese Prime Minister Taro Aso during the formers visit to the country.
Yoshikawa also called on Zardari to discuss about the forthcoming meeting of the Friends of Democratic Pakistan forum, The Daily Times reports.
The meeting is scheduled to be held in Tokyo on April 17th. (ANI)
