Pakistan government committed to safeguard lives, property
July 11th, 2011 - 10:11 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, July 11 (IANS) Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari Monday said the government was committed to safeguarding life and property of Pakistani citizens at any cost, a media report said.
He reiterated the government’s resolve to restore peace, and law and order in the country as it was the prime responsibility of every democratic government, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
The government would bring culprits to book even if they had any political affiliation, Zardari said.
The president expressed these views at a meeting with a delegation of the Awami National Party. The delegation appreciated the steps taken for restoration of peace in Karachi.
At least 39 people were killed in recent spurt of violence in the Pakistani port city, according to BBC.
