Pakistan for talks with India on countering terrorApril 23rd, 2009 - 1:13 am ICT by IANS
Islamabad, April 22 (IANS) Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Wednesday that Pakistan was keen to hold talks with India on countering terrorism and widening their anti-terror mechanism.
“We are ready to talk as to how it (the mechanism) can be made more effective and as to how we can solidify mutual trust on this issue,” he told OneWorld TV channel.
India, however, is likely to turn down the proposal as New Delhi has repeatedly said the sub-continental dialogue process can resume only after Islamabad shows tangible results in acting against the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
