Islamabad, Mar.28 (ANI): The current situation in Pakistan may not be in favour of President Asif Ali Zardari, and critics may have termed him as a failed and weak leader, but Zardari himself is confident that he can overcome all difficulties.
In a rare interview with, Zardari vowed to make Pakistan a better and stronger country in the near future, and adding it can still win its struggle against terrorism.
He announced that the battle to counter terrorism is now Pakistan’’s war.
Zardari however, said it would require more help from the United States and Britain to overcome the menace.
Putting side the international communitys claims that Islamabad has been poured-in with aid and assistance, Zardari said: We haven”t received a dollar. Until then, we don”t have the tools to fight.
He also rejected the notion that the Taliban has established its writ over the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) and is on the lookout to expand its hold over other regions of the country.
The Taliban is not in control of any part of Pakistan, Zardari said.
Zardari termed wide scale concern over the imposition of Sharia law in the Sway Valley as media hype.
The suggestions that Sharia law is being imposed in some parts of his country are just media hype, he said. (ANI)
