Taliban Kalaya, Jan 4 (ANI): In an act of sheer brutality, the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chopped off a tribesman’s hand after a so-called “Shariat” court of the banned group found him “guilty” of committing a theft in Pakistan’s Orakzai Agency.

The severing of the hand of Abdul Khaliq of Mir was carried out in Qureshan Chowk in Mamozai on Monday, and was witnessed by local people, the Dawn reports.

Despite claims made by the political administration and security forces that 90 per cent area of Orakzai had been purged of militants, the outlawed TTP still remains very active in several parts of the Agency.

On Sunday night, militants had slit the throat of Gulbat Khan after accusing him of “spying” for security forces in Otmela area of Ismailzai tehsil.

His body, along with a letter, was found in Masammella area on Monday.

In November last year, the banned TTP had publicly flogged 25 people alleged to be drug peddlers in the same region. (ANI)
