Lahore, Oct 14 (ANI): The Sindh High Court (SHC) has disposed off a petition seeking to initiate a high treason trial against former President Pervez Musharraf.
Headed by SHC Chief Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani, the division bench of the court further advised petitioner Maulvi Iqbal Haider to approach the Supreme Court in this regard, the Dawn reported.
In his petition, Haider had contended that a case should be filed against Musharraf under Article 6 of the Constitution.
The petition had also accused Musharraf of violating the constitution, illegal usage of national resources, damaging the federation and soiling the state’s reputation.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has also issued a 16-point charge sheet against Musharraf, demanding that the former president be brought back through Interpol and tried under Article 6 of the constitution. (ANI)
