Pak security forces foil terror plan in Hangu, recover explosive-laden vehicle
December 25th, 2010 - 5:32 pm ICT by ANIHangu, Dec 25 (ANI): Pakistan’s security forces have thwarted a terror attack plot and recovered an explosive-laden vehicle during a search operation in Hangu district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The vehicle was recovered after an exchange of fire with the terrorists in Doaba area of Hangu on Saturday, and three militants were also injured in the clash, Geo News reported.
Security forces have cordoned off the area, and bomb disposal squad have arrived at the spot to diffuse the explosive vehicle.
On December 10, a suicide bomber had rammed his explosive-laden tractor into a Shia trust-run hospital in Pass Kaly village of Hangu district, killing twenty people, including two women and three policemen, and injuring sixteen others.
Hangu is one of the sensitive areas in Pakistan, as it is attached with three tribal agencies- Kurram, North Waziristan and Orakzai. (ANI)
