Islamabad, Mar. 13 (ANI): Rejecting concerns of the international community, Pakistan has declared that its nuclear assets are safe as an elaborate command-and-control system was in place to safeguard the strategic arsenal. Our command-and-control system is very effective, and we do not need foreign assistance to protect and safeguard our strategic assets, the Daily Times quoted Pakistans Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit, as saying. Basit claimed that the international community had praised Pakistans multi-layered security system. The concerns we, firmly believe, are farfetched, he said. Meanwhile, Basit informed that Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi would leave for Prague on Friday to attend a Pakistan-EU ministerial troika meeting. Czech Foreign Minister Schwarzenberg will lead the EU delegation, accompanied by Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt as well as senior officials from the EU Commission, he said. On China-Tibet issue, Basit said Pakistan strictly adhered to the one-China policy and recognised Tibet as an inalienable part of China. (ANI)
