Pak Punjab Law Minister blames RAW for twin bomb blasts in Lahore
December 8th, 2009 - 12:54 pm ICT by ANILahore, Dec. 8 (ANI): Pakistan Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has blamed India for Monday’s twin bomb blasts in Lahore in which over 38 persons were killed.
Interacting with media persons here, Sanaullah said Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Israel’s Mossad were responsible for the current wave of terror in the country.
Sanaullah said Lahore blasts were not suicide attacks, but were triggered off by bombs planted in some vehicle.
Lahore was rocked by two powerful bomb blasts on Monday, which killed 38 people and injured over 100.
The blasts occurred in the crowded Moon Market situated in the Allama Iqbal Town.
Soon after the blasts, which occurred 30 seconds apart from each other at 8.45 in the evening, a severe fire engulfed the market place, which made relief and rescue operations more difficult.
Earlier in the day, in Peshawar, a suicide bomber blew himself up at the Session Court complex entrance killing nine people and injuring over 45.
This was the second attack in less than a month, which targeted the court premises in Peshawar. Earlier on November 19, a suicide bomber had killed 19 people outside the Peshawar Judicial Complex.
Meanwhile, the US embassy has denounced the series of attacks terming them as an attack on Pakistan’s ‘democratic institution’.
“This vicious attack is yet another attack on the democratic institutions of Pakistan and the rule of law. We express our deep condolences to the victims’ families and pray for a speedy recovery for all those injured,” a press release issued by the embassy stated. (ANI)
