Pak Punjab CM blames India for fanning terror in Balochistan, Waziristan
November 19th, 2009 - 12:21 pm ICT by ANI ( 1 comment )Quetta, Nov.19 (ANI): Taking a cue from Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Pakistan Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also accused India of fanning terrorism in Balochistan and Waziristan.
Addressing a joint press conference with Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani here, Sharif charged India with meddling in Balochistan through Afghanistan.
He said Islamabad possessed ‘concrete evidence’ of New Delhi’s involvement in destabilising the province.
“India is playing a heinous role in Balochistan and Waziristan. And yet, India keeps shedding crocodile tears in front of the international community by presenting itself as a victim of terrorism,” The Daily Times quoted Sharif, as saying.
“We have extended all possible support to India in fighting terrorism on its soil, but it’s very unfortunate that in return New Delhi is bent upon stirring turmoil in Balochistan to disintegrate Pakistan,” he added.
Sharif appealed to India to work like a ‘good neighbour’ in order to establish peace and stability in South Asia.
“India should recognise the fact that it is impossible to get rid of one’s neighbour. Therefore, it should stop creating problems that make it difficult for the two countries to coexist peacefully,” he said.
Sharif said Pakistan wants friendly ties with all countries of the world, including India and the US. (ANI)
