Lahore, Oct 13 (ANI): The Punjab Assembly in Pakistan has unanimously passed a resolution condemning former president Pervez Musharraf.
The resolution was passed in the assembly session on Tuesday, the Daily Times reported.
Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah moved the resolution as, “This representative house of Provincial Assembly terms October 12, when this day in 1999, a democratic government was ruined and black dictatorial rule started, as a worst tragedy in the history of Pakistan.”
“This House recommends the federal government bring back the dictator, Pervez Musharraf, through Interpol and conduct his court trial for sheer violation of the constitution and becoming a rebellion to the country,” the resolution added.
A few days back, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPAs had blasted Musharraf, in response to his tirades against their party leaderships.
Sanaullah had stated that the former military ruler had “lost his mind after losing his government and had become insane, and that he lacked discretion and polity, which were essential in politics.
Senior Minister Raja Riaz had called for Musharraf’s mental examination, terming him “crazy”. He also lashed out at the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) politicians, saying they would make the 67-year-old their party president even ten times over. (ANI)
