Pak politician threatened for disclosing government-banned organizations nexus
November 22nd, 2010 - 7:33 pm ICT by ANILahore, Nov 22(ANI): Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Punjab Information Secretary Dr. Fakharuddin Chaudhry has claimed that he has received death threats from some banned outfits in the province.
Dr. Chaudhry had exposed close contacts between the provincial government of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and the banned organizations in a press conference on Friday.
According to the Daily Times, Dr. Fakharuddin had received threatening messages and calls just after the press conference.
The callers claimed to be Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) members, and threatened him of dire consequences.
Earlier, the PPP Punjab leader had criticized Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah for their alleged relations with the banned outfits.
The leader had alleged that the government, in collaboration with some sectarian organizations, had made a terror plan for Muharram.
He also claimed that he could provide evidence about the terrorists who were booked for terror activities, but had now gotten relief from the Punjab government. (ANI)
