Lahore, Oct 26 (ANI): Pakistan police have badly failed to hunt the masterminds and terrorists behind brazen suicide attacks at Islamic shrines located in various districts of the country so far.

A senior lawmaker revealed that although Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had strongly warned Inspector General of Police Tariq Saleem Dogar of swift action after the Data Darbar blasts, the results of the investigation wing were zero, The Nation reported.

The top police brass has also remained busy in putting the blame on each other, when contacted for their expert opinion regarding suicide attacks on shrines.

Earlier, police officials had always ‘rescued’ themselves, saying that nobody could stop a terrorist from achieving his nefarious designs, who had already planned to commit suicide, the paper said.

But when asked about busting such terrorist networks, none of them succeeded to furnish a suitable reply, it added. The officials said that they were not allowed from IG Punjab to comment on such incidents.

However, a Deputy Inspector General of Punjab Police, requesting anonymity, categorically revealed that some days back the investigation regarding Data Darbar and Gamay Shah blasts was over, as two suspected terrorists were killed in police custody.

But authorities did not pay heed to probe the investigation officials including DIG Shoaib Dastgir and SSP Zulfiqar Hameed, he added.

Sunni Ittehad Leader Sahibzada Fazal Karim said that the system had entirely collapsed, as the government had failed in launching an operation against militants.

‘The masses should unite on one point agenda of securing themselves by joining the Ittehad as the government has badly failed to address public grievances’, he said, adding that they were never asked in any inquiry regarding shrine attacks.

Anti-State elements have adopted a heinous strategy since 2005 to attack shrines for creating sectarianism in the nation. (ANI)
