Islamabad May 3(ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has once again emphasized the need of constructive relationship with United States.
He thanked U.S. President Obama for acknowledging Pakistan’s efforts in leading to capture of Bin Laden by U.S. troops. He also said that the exchange visits of dignitaries of both sides is crucial in resuming fourth round of Pak-US Strategic Dialogue. He hoped that the dialogue would lead to agreements in water, energy and economic sectors.
As per reports of the Nation, he also emphasized the need of a trilateral relationship between Pakistan, Afghanistan and U.S. to co-ordinate their position on reconciliation, which he emphasized, must be Afghan-led and Afghan-owned. He said that Pakistan government would ensure the timely implementation of the Pakistan-Afghanistan Transit Trade Agreement.
Gilani’s statements evoked a positive response from US envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan Marc Grossman who assured of apprising Pakistan of U.S. policy in Afghanistan. (ANI)
