Pak NAB asks Swiss court to reopen cases against Zardari
January 19th, 2011 - 2:44 pm ICT by ANIIslamabad, Jan 19(ANI): The Swiss cases against Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari are likely to be reopened, as the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has completed its work in this connection.
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) summoned the NAB representative, who told the committee that on the directives of the Supreme Court, it had written a letter to the Swiss court to reopen the Swiss cases.
The NAB representative also said that the bureau had completed the working on the Swiss case reopening, and that the Supreme Court was being informed in this regard regularly, The News reported.
In 2008, Swiss judicial authorities had closed a money-laundering case against Zardari and released 60 million dollars frozen in Swiss accounts over the past decade, due to lack of evidence to bring Zardari to trial. (ANI)
