Peshawar, Jan 27 (ANI): A military convoy of Pakistan escaped a bomb attack on the outskirts of Peshawar on Saturday.

The convoy was passing through the area to join an army combat operation against the rebels in Darra Adamkhel, The News reported.

Four army trucks were on their way to Darra Adamkhel when a bomb went off with a loud bang. The detonation, however, did not cause any casualty, but damaged two private vehicles, a police official told reporters.

According to a few residents of the area, the incident occurred soon after the army convoy passed through the area, while others were of the opinion that it also hit a military truck.

The army and police had blocked the main Indus Highway and cordoned off the area. Heavy contingents of army were also rushed from Darra Adamkhel to help the troops.

Before attacking the troops on Saturday, the extremists had targeted the police parties a number of times in the recent past. (ANI)
