Pak losing war on terror due to flawed strategy: Imran Khan
March 10th, 2011 - 12:13 pm ICT by ANIPeshawar, Mar 10(ANI): The war against terrorism is slipping from Pakistan’s hands owing to their “flawed strategy” in this regard, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has said.
“We are losing the war against terrorism due to pursuing a flawed strategy,” Geo TV quoted Imran, as saying while talking to media persons in Peshawar.
The PTI chief said if he came into power, he would successfully bring bomb blasts in the country to an end within 90 days.
The right way would be to withdraw troops from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), and then take the tribes into confidence for taking on the real terrorists, he added. He said innocent people were being killed in the US drone attacks, and demanded of the Supreme Court to take up the petition against drone strikes as soon as possible.Imran also said the actual feud in Pakistan is between the supporters of status quo and its opponents, and not between religious extremists and liberals.
“I am ready to have a pact with the political parties to fight against status quo,” he added. He said Pakistan could be pulled out from the political crisis through mid-term polls, and also and expressed support to the bill for making public the details of politicians’ assets abroad. (ANI)
