Karachi, Jan 1 (ANI): The Pakistan Government is likely to delay the holding of general election for various reasons, including the possibility of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) winning a majority of seats through a sympathy vote.
Following the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, it seems difficult for the Pakistan Muslim League-Q to win the election and give constitutional cover to the amendments it has introduced.
The interim Pakistan Government also fears that if PPP and the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) win majority seats, they could block recent amendments to the Constitution and restore supremacy of Parliament.
Ruling PML-Q leaders have already suggested to the government that the election should be postponed in the wake of Benazirs assassination. (ANI)
