Pak EC confirms Musharraf’e re-election as President

- Islamabad, Nov 24 (ANI): Pakistan’s Election Commission on Saturday confirmed President General Pervez Musharraf’s victory in the controversial October 6 presidential polls and has sent the official results to the government for issuing a notification.

The Election Commission’s sent the results, a day after the newly constituted bench of the Supreme Court dismissed all constitutional petitions that challenged Musharraf’s candidature for the polls.
According to the official results, Musharraf got 671 votes in the election held on the October 6, while Justice Wajihuddin received eight votes, The News reported. (ANI) Sphere: Related Content
