Pak court’s ‘tit for tat’ judgement, asks authorities to chop-off the nose, ears of two convicts
December 22nd, 2009 - 5:29 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Lahore, Dec. 22(ANI): ‘Tit for tat’ seems to be the case for two Pakistani youths as a local court here ordered concerned authorities to chop off nose and ears of two convicts as they had done the same to a woman who had refused to marry one of them.
Sher Mohammad and Amanat Ali had cut ears and nose of Fazeelat Bibi after her family refused to her to Mohammad.
The anti-terrorism court headed by judge Khalid Naveed Dar had awarded life imprisonment to the two men and imposed a fine of 300,000 rupees on each on them, The Dawn reports.
The court also directed the accused to pay 700,000 rupees as compensation to the victim girl.
Pakistani courts have handed down similar punishments in the past but none were actually enacted and they are frequently revoked on appeal. (ANI)
