Pak court hears petitions on shifting Raymond Davis, diplomatic immunity
February 21st, 2011 - 5:00 pm ICT by ANILahore, Feb 21(ANI): The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday heard petitions regarding shifting of double murder-accused Raymond Davis from Kot Lakhpat prison to Lahore Fort, and the relevance and legality of the Vienna Convention.
LHC Chief Justice Ejaz Chaudhry also heard a petition filed by a human rights and public interest litigation association, which challenged the concept of diplomatic immunity as a violation of fundamental human rights.
A contempt of court petition was also filed against former Pakistan People’s Party Information Secretary Fauzia Wahab for issuing statements regarding the Davis case.
According to the Dawn, the court directed the government to submit a response on March 14. (ANI)
