Pak back to singing jaded UNSC tune on Kashmir issue
August 8th, 2009 - 3:34 pm ICT by ANIIslamabad, Aug. 8 (ANI): Islamabad has once again resorted to the old rhetoric of resolving the Kashmir issue in line with the UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiris.
“Pakistan seeks a just settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions,” the Daily Times quoted Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit, as saying.
“The essence of our position is that a durable settlement of the dispute must conform to the legitimate rights and aspirations of the people of the region,” he added.
In response to a question regarding India’s fourth dossier on the Mumbai terror attacks, Basit said India’s latest dossier has been forwarded to the relevant authorities and is being examined.
“The Foreign Office is, therefore, not in a position to give any substantive comment on the dossier,” he said. (ANI)
