Rawalpindi, Dec 8(ANI): An anti-terrorist court (ATC) in Pakistan has granted interim bail to two senior police officers, who were arrested in connection with the Benazir Bhutto assassination case.
The court had earlier issued arrest warrants against former CPO Rawalpindi, DIG Syed Saud Aziz and ex-SP Rawal Town Khurram Shahzad, for showing negligence in providing security to the former Prime Minister.
Special Judge Rana Nisar Ahmad Khan instructed Aziz and Shahzad to submit security bonds of Rs.1,00,000 each, the Daily Times reports.
The two officers have been granted bail till December 11.
The court had earlier said that charges would be framed against both the police officers as well as five other accused, who have also been arrested in the murder case.
Benazir had sustained injuries in a terrorist attack outside Liaquat Bagh, when she was returning after addressing a public meeting during her election campaign on December 27, 2007.
She was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to injuries. (ANI)
