Islamabad, Dec 6 (ANI): Vowing to conduct an enquiry into the Kargil conflict, former Pakistan Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif has said that some Pakistani generals committed huge mistakes by launching it.
Some Pakistani generals made a big mistake by launching the Kargil Operation, the Dawn quoted Sharif, as saying.
Meanwhile, Sharif has said that Pakistan Peoples Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto and he have resolved to struggle for their country together
In the past, we were political rivals. Now there is no rivalry. I visited her residence for the sake of the country. Today, we are one together we can pull Pakistan out of this crisis, he said while addressing a large gathering in Muzaffrabad.
Coming down heavily on the Musahrraf regime for rejecting his nomination papers, Sharif said, We have been saying that the election will be rigged. The election commissioner is carrying out orders of the regime.
Commenting on the creation of Bangladesh and history of military rulers in the country, he said, Pakistan had been dismembered because of a military dictatorship. Had they (military rulers) accepted the demands of (Sheikh) Mujeebur Rehman, Bangladesh would not have emerged.
Referring to the Lal Masjid operation and the situation in tribal areas, Sharif said the game was still being played and the people should rise to stop repression. (ANI)
