NWFP minister injured, 3 killed in militant attack in Dara Adamkhel

Yousuf Raza Gilani Peshawar, June 12 (ANI): North West Frontier Province (NWFP) Minister for Prisons Mian Nisar Gul was seriously injured while his driver and two body guards were killed in a militant attack in Dara Adamkhel region late Thursday.

According to the sources, the militants attacked Gul’s vehicle while he was on his way to Peshawar from his native district of Karak.

Gul sustained bullets injuries.His driver and two bodyguards were killed on the spot.

Gul along with one of his injured body guard has been admitted to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) in Peshawar, The Nation reports.

Doctors at the LRH said Gul was out of danger, but he would be kept under intensive medical observation for a few more days.

“Mian Nisar Gul received three bullets in the chest and abdomen. However, his condition is out of danger,” said Dr Gohar Ali Khan of the LRH Trauma Centre.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has condemned the attack, and ordered an immediate inquiry into the attack. (ANI)
