Peshawar, Nov.21 (ANI): North West Frontier Province (NWFP) Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti has blamed ‘foreign powers’ for the recent wave of terror attacks in the region.
Interacting with journalists after a funeral prayer of security officials who were killed in Thursday’s bomb blast near the Panj Kattha Chowk, Hoti said Peshawar was being targeted continuously because it is the frontline city in the ‘war on terror.’
He, however, said the fight against the militants would continue until their elimination.
Hoti said the government is pledged to root out militancy from the region and was taking all necessary steps to enhance the capability of the security forces.
“The police’s capabilities are being enhanced in terms of personnel, training, infrastructure and weapons,” The Daily Times quoted Hoti, as saying.
Responding to a question about reports that the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Swat chief Mullah Fazlullah’s was alive and present in Afghanistan, he raised questions over the authenticity of the report, saying it was difficult to ascertain the accuracy of those media reports. (ANI)
