Now, ‘non state actor’ Saeed dictates India policy to Pak masters
July 14th, 2010 - 4:16 pm ICT by ANILahore, July 14 (ANI): Just a day before the important meeting between the foreign ministers of India and Pakistan, Jamaat-ud-Daawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Muhammed Saeed has appealed to the Pakistani leadership to push the Kashmir and the river water sharing issues with India during any deliberations.
Addressing the district and zonal chiefs of JuD here, Saeed, the alleged mastermind of the 26/11 terror attacks, said the ‘Kashmir struggle’ has reached a decisive stage and that the government should extend all support to it.
He charged India of imposing a war in the region, and said New Delhi wants to establish its hegemony in the region, The Nation reports
Saeed’s latest provocation has come when both India and Pakistan trying hard to reduce the mistrust, which touched an all time low following the November 2008 terror attack.
External Affairs Minister S M Krishna is scheduled to meet his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad on July 15. The meeting is seen as an important step forward towards reducing the heightened tension between the two nuclear power South Asian neighbours.
Thursday’s meeting will be the first round of the foreign ministers’ talks since 26/11, however, neither side is expecting a breakthrough or declaration of an ambitious agenda. (ANI)
