London, April 25 (ANI): Norman Mailer, the late novelist, journalist and playwright, was also a formidable lover, a former mistress has claimed in accounts of their sexual encounters, one of which stretches to 50 pages.

Carole Mallory, a former actress and supermodel who had an affair with the six-times married writer for 10 years, saved seven boxes of material she said she collected during Mailer’s weekly visits between 1983 to 1992, while he was married to his sixth and last wife.

Mallory recently sold the steamy sex memoirs of Pulitzer-winning author to Harvard University for an undisclosed amount.

The material includes lengthy accounts of their sex life and writing lesson’s Mailer gave her. The documents also include two sex scenes based on their love life.

One, written as part of an unpublished novel called When I fall in love, was composed as a bet with Mailer that she could stretch an account of their lovemaking to 50 pages long.

The other, Making Love with Norman, stretches to a more modest 20 pages.

Theres a long scene in that which is based on our sex life, the Telegraph quoted Mallory, now 66, as saying.

Norman dared me to write a 50-page sex scene, and he lost the bet. Its very steamy. Norman was a real man and he knew what he was doing, she added.

Like Mailer, who died last year and was 19 years her senior, Mallory, a recovering alcoholic, has led an eventful life.

She dated Warren Beatty, Peter Sellers, Richard Gere and Rod Stewart and was once engaged to Claude Picasso, the son of the Spanish painter. (ANI)
