No proof provided by Pak over India’s role in Balochistan: Krishna
July 16th, 2010 - 1:24 am ICT by ANIIslamabad, Jul 15 (ANI): Rejecting Pakistan’s allegations of New Delhi’s role in the unrest in Balochistan, visiting Indian External Affairs Minister S M Krishna on Thursday said that not a single evidence has been provided by Islamabad in this regard.
“India is committed to being a sincere partner in our effort to establish to peaceful and progressive relationship between India and Pakistan,” Krishna said.
Replying to a question regarding Indian involvement in Balochistan, Krishna said: “This was mentioned in Sharm al-Shaikh, where the two prime ministers met. We have been waiting for some evidence being provided by Pakistan of Indian involvement. If credible evidence or any evidence is provided to the Government of India of our involvement. India will certainly look into it.”
The Indian External Affairs Minister was replying to a Pakistani journalist who asked about India’s alleged role in the ongoing unrest in Balochistan.
The Indian External Affairs Minister and his Pakistani counterpart met for several hours in an effort to revive the peace process that was broken off after the assault on the Indian financial capital that killed 166 people.
But both foreign ministers had little to say on what they had achieved in the talks.
“Today’s prolonged discussions were useful in creating an understanding on how to move forward. We agreed that this process is valuable and we will continue to meet in future as well. We also feel that the progress made through a concerted effort in the last four years, should not come to naught and we should build on it. So, to that extent, I would say this was a useful meeting,” a grim-faced Qureshi told reporters after their talks. (ANI)
