No Pakistani visa for any Balckwater official : Malik
January 2nd, 2010 - 4:48 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Islamabad, Jan.2 (ANI) : Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has denied the presence of controversial private US security firm, Blackwater, in Pakistan, adding that none of the firm’s officials have been given Pakistani visas.
Malik also rebuffed reports about any deal between the Blackwater and the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).
Speaking to the business community at the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Malik said no such agency named Blackwater is working in the country.
He reiterated that the militants were receiving support from foreign countries, and that they aim to divide and create a rift among the people of the country.
“Militants’ objective is to split Pakistan,” The News quoted Malik, as saying.
While urging the business community to give 0.2 percent of its earning to the fund established for the improvement of the police force, Malik admitted that Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies were ill-equipped and incapable of tackling difficult situations such as the recent Karachi violence. (ANI)
