No direct approach made by Presidents House on Zardaris remark: PPPMay 24th, 2008 - 3:36 pm ICT by admin
Islamabad, May 24 (ANI): PPP spokesman Farhatullah Babar has said that no direct approach has been made by Presidents House to seek details about Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardaris interview with an Indian news agency.
We have had no reaction from the President, but we learnt through media reports that Presidents House has sought details of Asif Ali Zardaris interview, Babar said.
He said Presidents House could not ask for such details from the PPP directly because the party was not in contact with the Presidency nor did it want to do so.
If they want to get details of the interview as it has been reported in the media, they can scrutinise the newspapers concerned, Babar added.
Responding to questions, Babar said the PPP had no working relationship with Presidents House, adding that the relationship between Presidents House and the PPP-led coalition government was in line with the constitution.
The Daily Times quoted Babar as saying that reports regarding a likely meeting between the Prime Minister and the President had actually been floated by sources in Presidents House without disclosing their identity and that details of such a meeting could only be sought from the same sources. (ANI)
