No cut in Pakistan’s defence expenditure: Kaira
November 12th, 2010 - 6:40 pm ICT by ANILahore, Nov 12 (ANI): In the wake of external and internal challenges to Pakistan, there will be no cut in the nation’s defence expenditure, Information and Broadcasting Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said.
Kaira made these comments while addressing a press conference along with Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, the Daily Times reported.
The minister reiterated that without enhancing taxes, Pakistan could not prosper or meet its economic needs.
“If some people want to cut the defence expenditures, they should come and discuss for reaching a unanimous decision”, he added.
The minister said that the present government had sincerely worked on the administrative, law and economic sectors for the development of the country.
“We want to move forward through reforms from a developing to a developed nation,” he added. (ANI)
