Nine killed in van-tanker collision in NasikMay 11th, 2008 - 9:27 pm ICT by admin
Chanduri (Maharashtra), May 11 (ANI): Nine people died, while two other were injured on Sunday when a car collided with a tanker at Chanduri village in Nasik district of Maharashtra.
The van was heading towards Aurangabad in Maharashtra while the tanker was on its way to Nasik when the accident occurred.
This accident took place at Nasik-Aurangabad highway no 30 near a village. A Maruti Omni was proceeding to Aurangabad from Nasik. The car collided with a truck. Nine people died and two women have been injured. Police helped in evacuating the injured women, said Raja Ram Gangode, a resident.
The injured were taken to Nasik civil hospital while those who died in the accident are yet to be identified.
At 3.30-4.30 in the morning, the dogs started barking as a car collided with a truck. There were nine people in the car. Two girls were immediately taken to the hospital,” said Sub-inspector Sanjay Gokawade.
The impact of the accident was so severe that the Maruti Omni van was totally damaged. (ANI)
