Islamabad, Mar 1 (ANI): The new Pakistan prime minister will take oath of office and secrecy between March 12 and 15, after the newly-elected MNAs (Members of National Assembly) and the new Speaker and the Deputy Speaker take oath.

Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Nisar A Memon announced this here last evening.

The Election Commission of Pakistan is likely to issue the notification of successful candidates today.

Memon said that the newly-elected MNAs would take oath on March 5. The Independent candidates are free to join any party from March 2-9, and seats of minorities and women will be distributed after the affiliation of the Independent members.

Elections for the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly would be held on March 6 or 7 through secret balloting, the Daily Times quoted him as saying.

In the new National Assembly, the PPP has the highest number of MNAs, followed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and PML-Q. (ANI)
