Nepal top leaders to finalise joint resolution motion
December 14th, 2009 - 5:50 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Kathmandu, Dec 14 (ANI): Leaders of three major political parties of Nepal are meeting here today to find a solution to the prevailing political deadlock by finalizing a Common Resolution Motion (CMP).
Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala, Unified CPN (Maoist) chairman Prachanda and CPN-UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal will discuss the contentious issues in the draft of the resolution motion.
On Monday, UML leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari said he was hopeful that the meeting would be able to finalize the CMP by doing away with their differences on it.There is a serious dispute between the three parties over the contents of the resolution motion.
The Maoists are adamant on their stance that the resolution motion should categorically mention the unconstitutional move of President Ram Baran Yadav on the Army chief row.
The UML, However, seems to be somewhat positive on the issue, Nepali Congress is not in favor of mentioning anything that even remotely suggests that the President’s move on the Army chief case is wrong, Nepalnews reportes. (ANI)
