Nepal says Maoists must expedite constitution writing process
April 3rd, 2011 - 5:20 pm ICT by ANIDhangadhi 9Nepal), Apr. 3 (ANI): Communist Party of Nepal-United Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Sunday said the Unified CPN (Maoist) should be pressurized to expedite the constitution writing process and take the peace process to its logical conclusion.
Speaking at a press meet on Sunday in Dhangadhi, he said public should exert pressure on the Maoists to make it more responsible toward the peace process.
According a report in the Republica, Nepal suggested that Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal should not pamper the Maoists.
Khanal, he said, should move ahead by giving the responsibility of the Home Ministry to other leaders.
A national consensus government, he said, is still necessary to complete the peace process and the writing of the constitution. (ANI)
