Kathmandu, Apr 22 (ANI): Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal met President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at his residence early this morning and briefed him about the row involving his government and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Rookmangud Katawal.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Dahal said President Yadav had directed him to seek a political consensus on the issue.
“The discussion was positive,” Dahal added.
Dahal will hold an emergency meeting of the central secretariat, his party and council of ministers to discuss the matter later in the day.
On Tuesday, President Yadav in a letter to Dahal asked him not to sack General Katawal.
President Yadav in his letter said ousting the Army Chief in the present situation would be inappropriate. (ANI)
