Kathmandu , May 30 (ANI): The Nepali Congress (NC) and the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist-Leninist (CPN-UML) leaders on Friday expressed concern over the Maoists claim for both the posts of constitutional president and executive Prime Minister.

According to Kantipur , NC leader and Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Poudel remarked that it was totalitarian thought of the Maoists to claim both the posts at a time when the political parties should work together and move ahead with consensus.

Earlier, the Maoist leader had argued that the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-M) as the largest party in the Constituent Assembly should get both the posts and if they were not given the posts then they will hand over the responsibility to form the government to other parties.

Stating that the Maoist leaders demand was against the peoples aspirations for change, the Minister claimed that such stance will not help to get through the transitional phase.

Likewise, UML leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari stated that it was not reasonable for any party to demand for both the posts.

Adhikari said that the Maoist statement was against the consensus added that no one can go against the consensus. (ANI)
