Lahore, Dec 5(ANI): The diplomatic cables released by whistle-blower website WikiLeaks have rightly termed former premier Nawaz Sharif untrustworthy, as the entire leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) is double-faced, Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said.
Elahi made these remarks while talking to media on Saturday after condoling All Pakistan Anjuman-i-Tajiran president Haji Maqsood Butt’s family on his demise, The Nation reports.
Accusing Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif of making the Pakistan Army controversial, he said the army was the guardian of the country’s national security and should not be made controversial.
He also accused the Punjab Government of minting billions of rupees in ’sasti roti scheme’.
According to a US embassy cable released by WikiLeaks, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed had described Nawaz Sharif as “dangerous but not dirty”.
Sharif was “dangerous but not dirty - this is Pakistan”, maintained Zayed, adding that the former premier, who heads the main opposition party to President Asif Ali Zardari, could not be trusted to honour his promises. (ANI)
