Myanmar border trade touches $838 mn
July 9th, 2012 - 7:51 pm ICT by IANSYangon, July 9 (IANS) Myanmar’s border trade hit $838.11 million in the first three months (April-June) of the 2012-13 fiscal year, Xinhua reported Monday.
Of the total, export amounted to $553.015 million while import represented $258.098 million. In 2011-12 fiscal, export amounted to $2.028 billion and import $1.339 billion.
Border trade was carried out through 13 border points, of which Muse topped with $700 million, while Chin Shwehaw point with $43.9 million and Myeik with $28.6 million.
Myanmar’s border trade amounted to 3.367 billion US dollars in the fiscal year 2011-12, up 58 percent from 2.13 billion dollars in the 2010-11 period.
