Musharraf responsible for all ills confronting Pakistan: SharifJanuary 25th, 2008 - 2:31 pm ICT by admin
Peshawar, Jan 25 (ANI): Former Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif has held President Pervez Musharraf responsible for all the ills confronting the country, and urged him to step down forthwith.
“Pakistan currently has only one problem to address and that is Musharraf. All the rest would vanish the day he steps down,” Sharif said.
He announced to observe February 6 as Yaum-e-Ahad in support of the deposed judges and to express solidarity with the movement of lawyers.
“Every ticket holder of the PML-N contesting the elections for the national as well as the provincial assemblies will be administered oath on that day in Lahore,” The News quoted Sharif, as saying.
“Believe me every member elected on the PML-N ticket would play the role of a soldier for the judges. I’ll put all these parliamentarians at your (lawyers) disposal,” he pledged.
Sharif said that November 3, 2007 was one of the darkest days of the country’s history.
“I don’t think we can come across any single instance of such deed in any civilised society,” he added.
Sharif saluted the judges who refused to bow down before a dictator and remained firm that after taking oath to uphold the Constitution and would prefer death to swearing allegiance to Musharraf. (ANI)
