MQM declares 10-day mourning over Imran Farooq’s assassination
September 17th, 2010 - 12:37 pm ICT by ANIKarachi, Sept 17 (ANI): The Muttahida Quami Movement’s Coordination Committee has declared a mourning period of ten days over the assassination of the party’s former convener Dr. Imran Farooq, who was stabbed to death in London.
According to details, MQM chapters across the world have announced suspension of party activities for the next ten days in mourning over the tragic murder of Farooq, a senior member of the MQM party, The News reports.
Addressing a press briefing at Nine Zero, MQM’s Convener Dr. Farooq Sattar strongly denounced the slaying of Dr. Farooq and extended his condolences to the heirs of the deceased soul.
He also directed MQM workers to observe the ten-days mourning peacefully.
Terming the killing of Farooq as ‘irreparable loss’ to the party, Sattar said that all party workers, including Quaid MQM Altaf Hussain, were deeply grieved over the tragic incident.
Farooq, who was living in exile in north London, was found murdered outside his home. (ANI)
