MPA, brother killed in suicide attack in Swat

Islamabad, Dec.1 (ANI): Provincial Assembly member Dr. Shamsher Ali and his brother were killed in a suicide attack at his house in Kabal area of Swat on Tuesday.
According to reports, a large number of people had gathered at Dr. Ali’s residence to exchange Id greetings. The attacker, hiding in the crowd, blew himself up injuring scores of people including Ali and his brother.
Dr. Ali, who was a leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), and his brother were admitted to Syedo Sharif Hospital where both of them succumbed to their injuries later, The News reports.
Security forces have cordoned off the region and a curfew has been imposed.
It is worth mentioning here that Kabal is situated just one kilometre away from Imam Dehri area, a stronghold of Taliban commander Maulana Fazllulah. (ANI)
