Lahore, Jun.1 (ANI): The North West Frontier Province Information Minister Iftikhar Hussain has blamed the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal’s (MMA) five year regime for helping the Taliban flourish and expand its writ in the province and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
Hussain also blamed religious parties such as the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl’s (JUI-F) for its dual policies regarding the Taliban, and said that such an attitude will ultimately help the NATO and US troops’ to invade Pakistan.
He added that the international community should not be bothered about the Taliban, as the country’s security forces were fully capable of tackling the extremists.
Hussain said that the government would continue its operation against the extremists who have challenged its writ.
“The government would leave no stone unturned to ensure a better future for the people,” The Daily Times quoted Hussain, as saying. (ANI)
