Islamabad, Sep 17 (Xinhua) At least six people were killed and seven wounded Wednesday in a suspected US missile attack in Pakistan’s tribal region, Dawn News TV channel reported.Suspected US drones fired four missiles in the Baghar Cheena area of South Waziristan, the report said.
Witnesses said some foreigners were among the dead.
No further details were immediately avaliable.
US drones in the recent past have carried out several air raids targetting militants in Pakistan’s tribal areas bordering Afghanistan, killing dozens of civilians.
The attacks were widely condemned in Pakistan.
In a separate development, Admiral Mike Mullen, the US defence chief Wednesday held discussions with Pakistan’s Army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani in Islamabad over cross-border raids by coalition troops.
Pakistani officials have reportedly conveyed their concerns over the attacks.
