Millionaire ‘landlord’ Pak provincial lawmaker doesn’t own a car!
March 3rd, 2010 - 6:27 pm ICT by ANIIslamabad, Mar.3 (ANI): Member of the Punjab Assembly Sardar Muhammad Amanullah Khan Dreshak owns agricultural land worth 40 million rupees, but if his statement of assets and liabilities is to be believed he does not own a car.
According to a declaration by Dreshak, he has 7,179 kanals of land in his name, and a mere 10 tolas of gold jewellery with him, but he has no motor vehicle.
According to statements submitted by the provincial legislators with the Election Commission, another MPA Sheikh Allauddin owns net assets worth 939 million rupees, including 339 million rupees in cash, agricultural land worth 390 million rupees, and investments worth 153 million rupees.
Allauddin also owns several immovable properties, including shops, garages, plots, showrooms and residential houses, The Daily Times reports.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is among the richest members of the Punjab Assembly and does not only own assets worth millions of rupees in the country, but also has properties at prime locations in Central London.
The details of the assets and liabilities of MPAs provided to the Election Commission of Pakistan for the year 2009 show that the Shahbaz owns four properties in London with an estimated worth of 153.9 million rupees.
Shahbaz also has investments in several sugar mills and other industries in the country such as the Chaudhry Sugar Mills Limited, Mumza Spinning Mills Limited, Muhammad Bukhsh Textile Mills Limited and Hudabiya Paper Mills Limited.
According to details provided by Shabaz, his second wife Tehmina Durrani also owns properties worth millions.
Durrani own land worth 400,000 rupees in Gwadar and another one acre of agricultural land worth 300,000 rupees in the same region. She has 1.1 million rupees in cash in several back accounts, two vehicles worth 2.1 million rupees and jewellery worth five million rupees. (ANI)
