Peshawar, Nov 28 (ANI): Owners of garment shops in Peshawar have either removed the mannequins used for displaying dresses or covered them after receiving threatening letters from pro-Taliban militants.
The shopkeepers association in Karimpura decided to remove the mannequins altogether or fully cover them in the wake of the threat.
Participants at the meeting were informed that 10 militants visited the Shaheen Bazaar, a market for women, and asked the shopkeepers to remove the mannequins, which they said promoted obscenity.
A letter sent by the militants warned them of dire consequences if they did not carry out the instruction, the Dawn reported. (ANI)
