Colombo, Mar.10 (ANI): Sri Lankan Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne has said that terrorist group, Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), is trying to re-organize itself and is secretly operating camps in Tamil Nadu.
Pulendran Master, who was a close associate of the former LTTE intelligence wing head Pottu Amman, is supposedly operating the camps.
Jayaratne said that Indian intelligence reports have revealed that three LTTE camps are secretly operating in Tamil Nadu and are being trained to carry out VVIP assassinations targeting Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Home Minister P Chidambaram, and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, The Colombo Page reports.
He also said that the rebels, who were defeated by the Sri Lankan troops in 2009, were hoping to relaunch their decades long fight for an independent homeland in the island and that the entire nation should be ready to face this threat. (ANI)
